To start of, the build quality and construction is top notch. When you start running, it feels solid and there’s no shake. The console features a multi colored LCD that looks good and provide easy to read informations. It shows distance covered, calories burned, speed, time, incline, number of steps taken, calories burned and your heart rate. The controls is large and smooth to operate, the layout and design is well thought out and very effective. This allows you to comfortably change the settings while your in your workout. The handle bar is sturdy and features buttons that let you change workout intensity and activate a heart rate monitor.
The assembly is easy and the instructions are clear and all necessary tools are included. Running surface is 20-by-56-inch which is spacious enough and the weight limit is 300 lbs. It is compact, when folded it only requires only 39″ x 33″ of floor space. The 2.5HP motor is powerful enough at to handle your training program and if you don’t have one the unit comes with 17 preset program to aid your training. It consist 7 for sports training, 5 for weight management and 5 for healthy living, it also has two heart rate control programs and two user-designed programs that you can customize to add variety to your workouts.
The LifeSpan TR 1200i features an Intelli-Step™ technology which works like a pedometer and count every single step you take, a nifty feature if you to track your steps. There a USB port to plugin your USB Disk, it stores your workout information and your age, gender and weight. It tracks all your workout session then you can upload the information from the USB Disk to your computer and connect it to your free (First 4 months) Lifespan Fitness Club account that comes with it. The service then provides analysis of your workout, gives you motivation and encouragement.
Though not having USB disk included in the package is understandable, not adding the Belt lube is a minor let down since the manual says to apply on the first use. The speakers is not that good and almost useless, though it’s not major since most phone right now doubles as a music player and most runners use earphone when working out. The data tracking service has small fee after 4 months of use, but there’s lifetime fee $69 if you want to have it for good. The reason for this is because the fee pay for it’s IT Departmert who handle the software and it’s maintenance. It’s really up to you if you find it very useful and you can see the value if not and you think you can live without it you can just take a pass. Not having it doesn’t degrade the value of the equipment.
This is a great treadmill, the price is justified and overall I have been very pleased with what the TR1200i offers. The negative is relatively minor and doesn’t really hurt it’s great performance. Also, this comes with a nice warranty so you don’t have to worry about your investment. The quality of the equipment is great, console and buttons is good, the pre programmed workout is equally good, add in those cool feature that enhances your training including the Lifespan Fitness Club membership.
